WHAT IS LASER CUTTING?
Laser cutters cut through metal using focused light from a beam. The high-powered laser utilizes CNC to cut with depth and is quicker than plasma cutting. The laser is adjusted based on the material being cut, along with its thickness, and is supplemented by a cutting gas, such as oxygen. One of the biggest advantages of laser cutting is that the cuts are precise and the metal won’t be distorted due to its high power.
WHAT IS PUNCHING?
A quality punch press is one of the most crucial elements of metal fabrication. The process of punching is when precise holes and cuts are created utilizing powerful pressure to pierce material. Punch pressing is also used with CNC to ensure maximum accuracy during the fabrication process. The material moves on an X and Y axis while the punching tool remains in place. This allows holes to be made very quickly and efficiently, which is great for larger projects.
